Dillon Francis - New Merch

Dillon Francis came out with a new album on Dec-01-2023 and a new album usually means new merchandise. Here's the thing. The IDGAFOS website only has a...wait for it...a CD available for sale at the moment. The name of the album is "This mixtape is fire too", and personally I enjoy the music. Dillon Francis is funny and has a strong artist image, that's a recipe for branding if I've ever seen one. So the fact that new merch didn't drop when the album came out really caught me off guard. Especially, since most artist revenue comes from merchandise sales and ticket sales these days. I assume more merch will be dropping eventually...but so far what's been available to buy along with the new album is simply disappointing. From him we've come to expect funny images, a quirky personality, and goofy graphics. Take the album cover from 'Magic is real' for example, the cover image is a unicorn farting a rainbow. That is Perfect t-shirt material. So to not see that type of thing on merchandise for sale with the new album, is a bit odd. Not to mention, there is Merchandise available to buy...but, it's a CD. That's a pretty odd decision honestly. To decide to produce merch but then be like "Yeah, Only a CD though" is kind of weird. I mean come on Gen Z doesn't even know what a CD is, and the quality of CDs makes it generally an undesirable purchase. Vinyl Releases would have been a much better option. We'll see if more merchandise trickles out over time so I can something positive about it. Until then the merch for 'This mixtape is fire too' was a disappointment. In the mean time you should defiantly listen to Dillon Francis if you like dance and bass music. His music videos almost always have a sense of humor to them, which makes them really fun to watch. Not to mention he's made a name for himself as one of a DJ with a lot of personality, which is a rare find. Normally DJs let the music do the talking for them. The albums great, the music's great, but unfortunately the merch just isn't there yet.
